Horses have always been a way of life for me. I guess you could say I've been around them since I was in my mother's womb! Growing up in a "horse family," I remember watching as my father, who strung up over-sized light bulbs over our arena, would train horses long after dark after he came home from work. When I was old enough, I stood side-by-side with him starting green horses and taking them to the highest levels of competition.
After graduating from the University of Arizona, I decided to pursue this interest full-time. I started M&M Training Stables and competed on the A-Circuit all-along the East Coast. From the Jumper-Circuit, I went into horse racing. I won some races, had a great time, and met a lot of great people.
A few years later, I started Red Eagle Ranch with two goals in mind. First, I wanted to ride, train, compete, and live with horses. Second, and no less important to me, I wanted to introduce others to the magic I feel around these magnificent creatures. I live both every day.
It’s a joy for me to wake up feeling the positive energy that flows from the land and the horses here at the farm. And I know that I am not the only one that feels it! I’ve seen time and time again what happens to people who are introduced to horses for the first time. The action, excitement, grace, beauty, and partnership become absorbed into their souls! I feel honored and privileged to be a part of that.
I hope you have the chance to experience the joy for life that horses can share with you.
